For furniture manufacturers, interior brands, lighting companies, fit-out specialists, surface suppliers and design-led businesses targeting the Middle East, INDEX Dubai and INDEX Saudi Arabia are two exhibitions that can open very different commercial doors.
Both events belong to the same established INDEX exhibition portfolio and connect brands with interior designers, architects, developers, procurement teams, distributors and fit-out professionals. But choosing between them should not come down to which show looks bigger on paper.
INDEX Dubai gives exhibitors access to a broad MENA design and interiors community from one of the region’s most established trade hubs. INDEX Saudi Arabia is more concentrated around buyers, projects and commercial opportunities inside the Kingdom.
The next editions are already confirmed. INDEX Dubai will take place from 1 to 3 June 2027 at Dubai World Trade Centre, while INDEX Saudi Arabia will run from 11 to 13 September 2027 at Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center.
When we compare the two from an exhibitor’s point of view, the real question is not simply Dubai or Riyadh. It is whether your brand needs wider regional exposure or deeper access to Saudi projects and buyers.

The table gives a useful starting point, but it does not capture the biggest difference between the two shows: how concentrated the commercial opportunity is around one market.
Why INDEX Dubai Has Broader Regional Reach
INDEX has been part of the Middle East design industry for decades. The 2027 Dubai edition takes place at Dubai World Trade Centre and is expected to bring together more than 500 brands from over 40 countries across ten main product sectors. The organiser says interior designers, distributors, manufacturers and fit-out specialists represent 62% of its visitor profile.
For a furniture or interiors brand that wants to enter more than one Middle Eastern market, that mix is important. A supplier may meet a Dubai-based interior designer working on UAE hospitality projects in one conversation, followed by a distributor covering several GCC countries and then a procurement professional sourcing for projects elsewhere in the region.
This is why we see INDEX Dubai as particularly useful when the commercial plan is broader than the UAE itself. The show’s product structure also makes it relevant to many parts of the design supply chain. Furniture, furnishing fabrics, lighting, décor and homeware, kitchen and bathroom products, surfaces and flooring, home automation, architectural hardware, modular structures and design-and-fit-out services are all represented within the current exhibition format.
For international manufacturers, that allows a product to be shown in the context in which designers and specifiers actually use it rather than in isolation.
The Co-Located Dubai Shows Expand the Buyer Mix
INDEX Dubai 2027 will again take place alongside The Hotel Show Dubai and WORKSPACE at Dubai World Trade Centre. That combination is commercially relevant because it widens the visitor mix beyond residential interiors alone.
A lighting manufacturer, for example, may be interested in interior designers attending INDEX but also hospitality buyers moving through The Hotel Show. A commercial furniture company may find the WORKSPACE audience particularly relevant. A surfaces supplier can have applications across hotels, workplaces, residential projects and retail environments.
For an exhibitor, this means the stand should communicate where the product belongs without making the message too broad. Trying to speak to every possible buyer usually makes a booth less clear. We would rather identify the two or three strongest applications and make those immediately visible from the aisle.
If a furniture brand is primarily interested in hospitality specifications, that story should be obvious. If the product is designed for premium residential interiors, the visual language can be completely different. If an architectural material solves a technical problem, samples and specification information may deserve more attention than lifestyle imagery.
Your INDEX Dubai Stand Has to Compete Visually Without Becoming a Showroom
Interior exhibitions create an interesting design challenge because almost every exhibitor already understands aesthetics. A furniture manufacturer may have beautifully styled collections. Lighting brands naturally create striking displays. Surface and flooring companies bring texture and material variation. Décor brands can make even a small stand visually rich.
That means simply creating an attractive booth is not enough. When we plan an INDEX project, we focus on the relationship between product visibility, visitor movement and business conversations. A stand can feel like a designed interior without becoming so dense that visitors are unsure where to enter or who to speak with.
At ExproStands, our exhibition stand services in Dubai cover concept development, 3D design, fabrication, graphics, installation and on-site delivery at Dubai World Trade Centre. Our team has worked across major DWTC exhibitions, including INDEX and other design-led trade shows.
For INDEX specifically, we would usually plan the stand around hero products rather than trying to display the entire catalogue. The best pieces should create the first reason to stop, while samples, catalogues, digital presentations and meeting areas support the deeper conversation.
INDEX Saudi Arabia Has a Different Commercial Purpose
INDEX Saudi Arabia is not simply a smaller version of INDEX Dubai. The Saudi event is designed around the Kingdom’s rapidly expanding interiors, hospitality, residential and commercial project market. The 2027 edition moves to Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center from 11 to 13 September, after the 2026 show was held at Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center.
That venue change is something exhibitors should factor into their 2027 planning rather than automatically reusing logistics assumptions from the previous edition.
More importantly, the buyer conversation in Riyadh is often more market-specific. INDEX Saudi Arabia lists interior designers, architects, FF&E procurement teams, hotel owners and operators, distributors, retailers, restaurant operators, engineers, fit-out contractors, commercial real estate professionals and government representatives among the communities attending the event.
For a manufacturer trying to enter Saudi Arabia, these conversations can be directly tied to distribution, project specifications, hospitality development or local commercial partnerships.
Saudi Project Demand Changes What Buyers Want to Know
The scale of development in Saudi Arabia gives INDEX Saudi Arabia a different backdrop. In its September 2026 event release, INDEX Saudi Arabia said that more than SAR 4.88 trillion worth of real estate and infrastructure projects had been announced in the Kingdom since the launch of Vision 2030, citing Knight Frank. The same release said the Saudi interior fit-out market was expected to reach approximately SAR 31.3 billion by 2031.
For furniture, lighting, flooring, textiles and fit-out companies, this helps explain why Saudi buyers may approach suppliers differently. A designer may want to understand whether a product can be specified across a large hospitality development. A procurement team may ask about lead times, quantities and consistency. A developer may care about customisation. A distributor may want to know whether the brand can support the Saudi market beyond one exhibition.
This means your stand needs to do more than create recognition. It should make the commercial proposition understandable.
If your furniture can be customised for hospitality projects, show that capability. If you manufacture surfaces in large volumes, make material options and technical specifications easy to review. If you are looking for Saudi distribution, your team should be ready to discuss the structure of that relationship rather than treating every visitor as a general lead.
Saudi Arabia Requires More Localised Exhibition Planning
The Saudi show also brings together INDEX Saudi Arabia, Hotel & Hospitality Expo Saudi Arabia and ORGATEC WORKSPACE Saudi Arabia under one roof. The organiser describes the combined platform as connecting the Kingdom’s interiors, hospitality and workplace industries.
That gives exhibitors access to several connected project communities, but the message still needs Saudi relevance. We would not recommend taking a Dubai booth, replacing one graphic with “Saudi Arabia” and rebuilding it unchanged in Riyadh.
If your business has Saudi project references, relevant product applications, local distribution capability or materials suited to the Kingdom’s hospitality and commercial projects, these points deserve space in the communication.
Through our exhibition stand services in Saudi Arabia, we manage custom booth design, fabrication, graphics, installation and project coordination for exhibitions in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam. Our ExproStands team has worked at both RICEC and Riyadh Front, so venue logistics and build requirements form part of our planning before production begins.
For a 2027 INDEX Saudi project, we would specifically plan around Riyadh Front rather than relying on previous RICEC assumptions.
Furniture Brands May Need Different Strategies at the Two Shows
Furniture is one of the clearest examples of why the events should not be treated identically. At INDEX Dubai, an international furniture brand can use the show to develop several kinds of relationships at once: regional distributors, design studios, hospitality specifiers, retailers and project buyers. Dubai’s broad international audience makes it a strong environment for showing the overall brand and collection.
In Riyadh, we would normally make the Saudi application more prominent. INDEX Saudi Arabia says the Kingdom’s furniture market was valued at US$22.4 billion in 2026 and projects it to reach US$27 billion by 2030. The event connects furniture exhibitors directly with designers, architects, developers and buyers sourcing for Saudi projects.
If your products are suitable for hotels, branded residences, premium villas or commercial interiors, those project applications can become more important than displaying the largest possible number of individual pieces.
Surfaces, Lighting and Fit-Out Brands Should Think About Specification
For flooring, surfaces, lighting, architectural hardware and fit-out businesses, both INDEX events offer another type of opportunity: getting closer to the professionals who influence specifications before a purchase order exists.
INDEX Dubai explicitly positions itself as a meeting point for architects, designers, project managers, buyers and fit-out specialists sourcing design technologies and turnkey solutions.
Saudi Arabia offers similar audiences but in a more focused project market. The Saudi event says its surfaces and flooring sector brings exhibitors in front of architects, interior designers, contractors, developers and procurement teams working on high-value projects.
This changes stand design. For specification-led products, physical samples matter. Material boards need enough light. Visitors may need to touch surfaces, compare finishes or take samples away. Technical information should be available without covering every wall with text.
A stand for these brands needs to behave more like a compact materials library combined with a business meeting environment than a conventional promotional booth.
INDEX Dubai or INDEX Saudi Arabia: Where Should You Exhibit First?
If your company is new to the Middle East and wants to understand several regional markets, INDEX Dubai usually provides the broader discovery environment. The international exhibitor mix, established Dubai design community and co-location with The Hotel Show and WORKSPACE give brands access to several connected buyer groups.
If Saudi Arabia is already a defined growth market, INDEX Saudi Arabia offers a more concentrated route to the Kingdom’s design, hospitality and project community.
The right answer can also be both. INDEX Dubai takes place in June 2027 and INDEX Saudi Arabia follows in September. That creates a useful gap between the two shows.
A company can use Dubai to introduce its collection, meet regional contacts and identify Saudi opportunities. Those conversations can then be continued in Riyadh three months later with a more focused proposition.
We would still change the stand strategy between the two. After INDEX Dubai, review which products attracted serious interest, which buyer types stayed longest, which samples were repeatedly requested and which Saudi conversations progressed after the exhibition. Those findings should influence what gets displayed in Riyadh.
Our View at ExproStands
For brands seeking regional visibility, multi-market distribution and access to a broad MENA design community, INDEX Dubai is the more international platform.
For companies focused on Saudi projects, local distribution, hospitality development, FF&E procurement and relationships inside the Kingdom, INDEX Saudi Arabia provides the more concentrated commercial environment.
Neither event should be chosen simply because one appears larger. At ExproStands, we look at what our client is actually trying to achieve before we design the stand. A furniture business seeking distributors needs a different layout from a surface manufacturer targeting architects. A lighting company requiring live product demonstration needs a different environment from a fit-out business planning private meetings with developers.
That is also why we do not believe an INDEX stand should be designed only to look beautiful. At a design exhibition, beautiful stands are everywhere. The stands that perform are the ones where the right buyer can understand the brand, experience the product, see its relevance to their projects and have a serious conversation with the team.
Choose Dubai when your opportunity is regional. Choose Riyadh when the Saudi market itself is the priority. If both markets matter, use each exhibition for a different stage of the same growth strategy.
